  • I am pregnant, is this course right for me?

There is no better time to start your breastfeeding education than during your pregnancy. The early days of feeding your baby can have a significant impact on longer term milk supplies so its best to get things off to a good start.

  • Is this course suitable for my partner / support person?

I thoroughly encourage partners to participate in as much of the course as possible. The days immediately after birth can be a bit of a blur and if your support person has also understood the ins and outs of breastfeeding then they will be better able to support you. If you would like access for your partner please email me at [email protected] with a copy of your purchase receipt and I can provide you details for your partner to access the course without an additional charge.

  • What will I learn on the course?

This course is separated into video and written lessons – full course content is above in the course curriculum. I will explain to you baby led breastfeeding positions and a variety of mother led breastfeeding positions. I will explain CHINS and how it can help you, why latch is so important, breast shaping, hunger cues, the frequency of feeds and the pattern of a feed. In the written lessons I will cover how to tell if feeding is going well, newborn weight loss and gain, anatomy, milk production and milk ejection, milk volumes, cluster feeding, soothing techniques and the first 24 hours. You’ll also be provided access to a number of useful downloads that I have created for you as easy to access reminders. I’ll be adding more lessons over time to expand the course. I’ll also be developing some of the text lessons into video lessons so you may find there are more video lessons for you to explore.

  • My baby is 6 weeks old, is this breastfeeding course suitable for me?

If your baby is older than around 6 weeks then you may not receive all the value from the course but it may have some benefits if you are having some challenges. Even when I am working with families one to one with older babies I frequently refer them to some of my videos to support them in developing their understanding of feeding their baby. Alternatively you may wish to book an online video consultation with me where I can address any specific concerns that you have.

  • How do I access the course?

The course is hosted on a platform called Thinkific which you can access immediately after purchase from your smart phone or computer. The course can be completed at a time and location that is convenient to you. You have 12 months access to the course and can watch the videos and read the content as many times as you wish.

  • I have already breastfeed a child, will this course be useful to me?

Yes! Just the action of your reading this suggests that breastfeeding perhaps didn’t go as you had hoped last time or something has changed in your situation since you last breastfed. However, plenty of mums who already have children have taken the course and seen the benefits it can bring them. If you have a particular concern then please reach out to me on my contact form.

  • Will completing this course prevent me from having any problems with breastfeeding?

I wish I could say yes to this but unfortunately I cannot guarantee that breastfeeding will be problem free. You and your baby, or babies, are unique and there are many reasons why breastfeeding can be challenging. Completing this online breastfeeding course will however enable you to be best prepared for feeding your baby. If you do need more support I am happy to offer you a 50% discount on a virtual feeding consultation.
